Why is student development crucial?
The Indian economy is growing at a steady average of 7% however, fewer and fewer Indians secure stable employment after obtaining education. Every month 10,00,000 Indians become age eligible to join the workforce, in a growing economy with no guarantee of a job. The issue is primarily related to employability of the students due to varying reasons ranging from poor education, lack of training facilities and inadequate upskilling leading to under-developed talent.
Employers today need professionals who are responsive to economic, social, cultural, technical and environmental change and can work flexibly and intelligently across business contexts. Graduates must understand the part they play in building their organisations, and have the practical skills to work effectively in their roles.
